| Great band! I was at a party in October 1983, where someone called the local Top 40 station here requesting "Vomit Of The Gods" by Venom. The DJ TOTALLY FREAKED OUT, saying "We'll play that when Hell freezes over!! We'd lose our license!! I'd lose my job!!".

®öttënßùchë® (9/8/2007) I've been cranking the Tony Dolan-era Venom lately. Prime Evil, Temples of Ice and The Waste Lands are awesome.
I don't really like TEMPLES OF ICE (should have been called Temples Of NICE, as it's too, erm, nice)... but PRIME EVIL and THE WASTELANDS are both very cool albums!

It's not that nice. The new album is going to be called "Hell."

I thought "Temples of Ice" was a cool album title, but a really crappy album.....My favorite VENOM album would have to be the debut, Welcome to Hell. But everything besides TOI was great.

Venom made a few mediocre and crude punk-ish rock/metal albums which helped influence better bands, Bathory, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost... etc. They were an evolutionary process of metal, and then became obsolete.

Wonderful, an ANUS troll.
Celtic Frost as indeed superior to Venom, but the closest Bathory has ever come to matching them was with Sign of The Black Mark, and maybe Blood Fire Death. Even then, Welcome To Hell and Black Metal were superior by far. Their Viking metal albums were just overdrawn, pretentious garbage (although Hammerheart is enjoyable). And as much as I love Hellhammer, they didn't even come close to matching the quality of Venom's first two albums. And Venom has become obsolete? I'm hoping that you're joking. Venom were far more influential than the three bands you listed, and their first two albums still influence countless bands to this very day.
Also, don't use crude as an insult with Venom, then mention a couple of bands that were about as crude, sloppy and simple as you could possibly get (not that it's necessarily a bad thing)
- What you used to love now, you're gonna adore. With Charmin Ultra, less is more. Cha Cha Cha, Charmin.
